Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She is the author of fifteen books, and she is co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, writer, journalist, TV host and the owner of The Huffington Post. After moving from Greece to England from Greece when she was 16, she received a MA with a major in Economics from Cambridge University. As the first non-English speaking student, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. She became an author for a conservative newspaper after the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a couple of years later, she developed an online platform for voice which offered critiques of the political landscape. Arianna was able to attract several prominent contributors who posted their opinions on culture and politics. Arianna's fame started in 2003, after she was a candidate for an independent in the California recall vote in order to replace the then governor Davis. Additionally, she was involved in an initiative in Detroit that promoted cars that are fuel efficient. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as one of the top women in the media, achieving 12th position on their list. The same year the Guardian named her to the top 100 of media lists. AOL Inc. made her the President of their media group in 2011, after they bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included additional AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list or Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos as well as Elli, who are both journalist and management consultants. They were very close to her father. However, it was her bond with her mother who has shaped her. When she was a teen she demonstrated leadership skills which she is still renowned for. When she was 16 years old her family moved into the United Kingdom for her higher education. She attended Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college in which she became the third female to serve as the president. In 1972 she graduated with a master's degree in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic and as a host on television. She also appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
